Subscription Update
Hello Again Readers!
Are you getting tired of me and my announcements yet? I didn’t think so! It’s because my announcements usually contain some fun updates that I’ve made to Familial Ramblings, right? Either way, I’m here to announce that I’m making some changes to the subscription option. I’ve moved from Feedburner to MailChimp*, which allows me to customize the e-mails that you receive whenever I make a new post. This system has a lot more features than what I had to work with previously and I’m excited to see what this thing can really do!
What does that mean for you? This means that you have to take about a minute out of your day to re-subscribe to the blog. You can either do so by simply adding your e-mail where it says to on the top right or you can visit the subscription page by clicking here.
If you go to the subscription page, you have a couple of options. You can decide if you would like to receive either a daily or weekly update for instance. Daily subscriptions are basically what you receive now, but it’s more customized and gives a bit more detail. Weekly subscriptions are received every Sunday (with the exception of today) and will basically let you know what posts you’ve missed during the week and any other tidbits I may end up adding. You also have the option of deciding what kind of formatting you would like to receive whether it is HTML (fancy formatting with images I’ve added), Text (just plain text and no images) or Mobile (optimized for your mobile phone).
That pretty much sums everything up. So please take less than 2 minutes out of your day and Subscribe to Familial Ramblings Updates!
*This is an affiliate link. If you sign up for a paid plan using this link, I will get points which I can use towards my mailing list. If you sign up for free, I will not receive anything, which is perfectly fine with me because I love their service already!

Interesting. What makes this system better than FeedBurner?

This is an older post, so you’re already subscribed to the current system that I use. With Mailchimp, I can customize the appearance of the emails that are received in addition to creating different list types. Currently I only have the RSS option enabled to sign up for, but in the future I may do a weekly or even monthly option for receiving emails.
well, we just gotta re-suscribe, right? thats not a hassle to do.
Yup! All you have to do is add your email and hit subscribe (you’ll get an email asking for you to confirm your subscription). You can change your email preferences after you’ve signed up as well. So, if you subscribe to get daily emails and decide you want weekly, you can change it whenever you’d like.
Which I sure will do.
I hope to see that you do, Naiwen! ^^
now the question is, how to? I don’t see the subscribe button or the notify me when there are new comments button on the blog.
Like I said in my post, you can subscribe by using the widget on the right of the blog (it says “Get Free Email Updates” or you can go to the subscription page found here: http://eepurl.com/kkFmX
This system is not for to be notified about comments, just blog posts. To get comment notifications on a specific post, you have to subscribe to said post. You can find a link to subscirbe to get updates on comments for a specific post direction under the comment section. It says “Subscribe by Email.”
Hope that helps!
ok thanks, susbcribed to your blog. Its interesting as always.
