Familial Ramblings gets Reviewed
In my opinion it’s a good practice for bloggers to get their blogs reviewed every now and then if they want to find out what others see when they look at their blog. Recently I requested a review on a website and I agreed with some of what they said—like the fact that I should promote a bit more to get my blog a bit more exposure—but some things that were pointed out were way off in my opinion. For example, I was told that I “randomly capitalize” my blog post titles, but for those who have knowledge of the “American” style of writing know that I generally follow the rules to a T. Of course I make mistakes, but I’m only human. Either way, this one questionable reviewed led me to requesting reviews on other sites, but recently a received a review that I had not asked for and it was a pleasant surprise.
Yesterday morning I checked my blog to find that someone was linking back to some of my posts, which is always a nice surprise and greatly appreciated. The link came from another blog called Forum Flavor, which is owned by Geoffrey. Of course I had to check it out and to my surprise I found a wonderful review of Familial Ramblings. I really appreciated Geoffrey’s review not only because it was a positive one, but also because he actually looked at my blog and took the time to get to know it. In one review I receive, they claimed that I made up the word “familial” without bothering to look it up in the dictionary. Unlike this reviewer, Geoffrey actually took the time to spare a few minutes to actually check the dictionary where he found that it was indeed a real word.
I need to send out a big THANK YOU to Geoffrey for taking the time to write this wonderful review. I really appreciate the kind words that were said and I really loved getting to see what someone else sees when they look at my blog. Thank you again!
If you want to check out Geoffrey’s blog Forum Flavor, make sure to click any of the three links in this post. I’d highly recommend checking this blog out because despite its young age, it is already filled with useful, easy to understand information for administrators.

I’ve got recently or of late a review too. Was a free one, not paid so yeah. I swear to God, some reviewers don’t know how to do it properly or the right way. Some good points, some negative or not so good. So I’m happy that you’ve got a nice review. Got to the spotlight & thats perfect for more exposure. Keep advertising it & you’ll gain lots more readers, Felicia! But you’ve gone a long way with it already! I see the heart & soul & mind you’ve put into it. So yeah I admire your work too.
Thanks for the comment, Naiwen! I have to agree that some reviewers don’t know what they’re doing or what they’re talking about. I’ve never paid for a review and never will to be honest. It’s reviews like Geoffrey’s that are the important ones in my opinion.
Just go to promotion fora to request for a free one, paid in the board’s currency? XDDD Thats free altho it costs credits!
Well, the review I referred to in the beginning was on a promotion forum; though, even that I didn’t pay for. Like I said, genuine interviews that you don’t pay for (at all) are more important in my opinion.
But don’t all promotion fora require you to get it for FAs, FPs or whatever? That baffled me a wee bit.. when you said twas completely free.. I mean, less you meant free services week no? Or isn’t called for that you pay for the services on the board?
I won SOTM (Site of the Month) on Forum Promotion and as a prize you get a free review.
You deserved to have a good review written about the blog.
*glares at how you spelled my name*
Thank you again for the review! I totally must have had a dyslexic moment when typing your name in. I’ve changed it now though.
you have one hell of a blog so you nothing to worry about, it’s worth every minute spent on it, you’re amazing and that is seen in your blog, it has personality, it beautiful to the eyes, don’t know what else to say ’cause the blog speaks for itself
Aww, you’re too sweet, Jenea! I really appreciate you stopping by!
I can’t agree more with Geoffrey’s review.
Thanks so much, Farida!
