Count Down to Summer Vacation

I was sitting around this morning procrastinating getting ready for the day and debating on what I wanted to blog about when my mother decided to open the shade letting in a ray of sunshine…right into my eyes.  After recovering from being blinded by the light, I started to think about how much I have to do in these next couple of weeks.  School’s quickly coming to the end so I’m, of course, bogged down with final projects.  But when all that’s said and done, it’ll be time for summer vacation!

Summer vacation is normally a time for families to plan some time to get away from it all and enjoy one another’s company.  They go on vacations around the world or even go on vacation in their own backyard.  Now, I know this post doesn’t have much information, but it does have an important question for all of you what are you doing with your family this summer?  Are you going to go on vacation or maybe you’ll be sticking close to home and spending more time with your family.  I know some of you will probably be working, but maybe you’ve decided to take some time off to spend more time with your family.  Take me for example!

This summer my family and I plan to take a trip down to Orlando Florida to go to the different theme parks and to just have a good time, enjoying one another’s company.  This is especially exciting because we’ll be seeing TJ’s (my husband) family, whom we haven’t seen since our wedding.  I’m sure it’ll make for some very interesting posts and stories for all of you, so be sure to keep an eye out for those!

So, enough about me, how about all of you?  How do you plan to spend your summer vacation?  Are you going to go anywhere exciting or are you just spending some time at home with family?  Tell us all about it!

  1. Our family loves Orlando, though last time we went we did everything non-Disney…and had a BLAST! There is so much to do down there. Love it. This summer we’re heading out to Seattle to see my brother and his wife. My folks and my sister, brother-in-law and their kids are coming too, so it’s going to be quite a crazy adventure!

    • I absolutely agree with you, Janene! There’s so much to do in Orlando other than just going to the parks. There are a lot of little shops and attracts people have tendency to miss out on, which is unfortunate. That sounds like a fun trip you have planned for this summer! I’ve never actually been to Seattle, but I’ve been told I should visit it at some point!

  2. We went to Orlando last summer and it was awesome. I hope we go again this year!! And maybe visit some family in Tennessee. :) Can’t wait for summer!

    • I’m so excited to be going to Orlando this year and hope that you get to go too! Did you go to any of the parks last year, if so, which ones? Did you have a favorite?

      • I didn’t go to any parks, I mainly spent the days exploring shops and attractions. I had my 2 year old with me and I didn’t think she’d appreciate the parks. We had an amazing time though. We’re supposed to actually go to Disney World this year, I’m not sure which specific parks yet. But I hope they have some fun stuff for a 3 year old to do!!

        • The shops and attractions are something I think people should check out more often. There is a lot of things to do around Orlando aside from the parks, which I’m sure you noticed! There’s a ton of things for younger kids to do at the different parks. Like, at Hollywood Studios (used to be MGM), they have the Honey I Shrunk the Kids sections which seems to be the main attraction for kids there. There are a lot of fun shows and other rides that I’m sure a 3 year old would enjoy at all of the parks. ^^

      • But yeah, the students are on strike now, so we can’t continue our courses, and its pissing some people right off because they can’t finish their semester in time… So yeah.
