The Family that Slays Together

The game Lollipop Chainsaw came out a couple of weeks ago and for some reason it spoke to me.  I’m not much of a gamer, but every once in a blue moon a video game creeps up that catches my attention.  I’ve never completed a game as fast as I finished that one because it instantly hooked me.  It’s certainly not a game for those who get queasy looking at blood and guts considering the game centers primarily on fighting zombies with—that’s right, you guessed it—a chainsaw.  But the game is more than that just, this game surprised me when I found out that it doesn’t just focus on the main character, Juliet and her boyfriend Nick, but also on her family of zombie hunters. Striving to Become Skin & Bones

I watched the Dr. Oz show for the first time this past Wednesday because the topic of discussion for the day was very interesting to me and I thought that it may be of interest to my readers as well.  The topic of discussion was anorexia nervosa.   I’ve studied anorexia in the past and even knew someone who was anorexic, but it’s always so surprising to hear the stories some of these people have to tell about how they got to the point they are at.  If you are unaware or unsure of what anorexia is, it’s a mental disorder where people see themselves as fat, so much so that they slowly stop eating and will pretty much only eat to stay alive.  They have an extremely difficult time when it comes to eating and sometimes eating can even make them physically ill. Is Blood Thicker?

The movie Dark Shadows starring Johnny Depp was recently released in theaters.  Considering I’m obsessed with movies and have always been a huge fan of Johnny Depp, I, of course, had to go see it.  I thought it was a great movie with a lot of laughs that I would recommend others to go see.  There was a very interesting concept used within the movie, which is what I wanted to concentrate on for this post and that’s the concept that blood is thicker than water. Are You Going to Protect the Family?

The Blind Side is based off of the true story about a family that takes in a young Michael Oher (Quinton Aaron) who later in life becomes an All America football player and first round NFL draft pick.  Michael’s life is not an easy one to say the least—his mother is hooked on drugs and sells her body to pay for her habit, while is father is nowhere to be found.  Michael is currently living out on the street, but does his best to survive.  He is feared by most of his peers not only because of his size, but also because of the color of his skin.  There is only one young boy named S.J. Tuohy (Jae Head) who is willing to give Michael a chance.

Jay's Journal

I Wish I Would Have Known

After months of trying to find some time to sit down and read some of the books

that I had gotten for Christmas, I was finally able to finish a book called Jay’s Journal by Anonymous.  It’s from the same people who published the book Go Ask Alice and is very similar; however, this book is more so about the Occult where Go Ask Alice focused more-so on drugs.  There was a lot pertaining to drugs in this book as well, but that’s more so toward the beginning of the book.
