And the Award Goes To….

Firstly, I have to start off by telling you this isn’t the topic I was going to originally write about, but this is such exciting news I just had to tell all of my readers.  I am a part of a community called Top Admin, which is a forum for blog and forum administrators.  Every month the owner and founder, Ramona (dojo) doing a “Best of the Month” awards which includes:  member of the month, site of the month and post of the month.  This month I was bestowed the honor of receiving the Site of the Month award!

I cannot say how ecstatic I am to receive this award and though some of you may think I’m crazy for being so excited about it you have to understand there is a reason for it.  On most forums when it comes to “of the month” awards, they’re usually voted on by the members of the community, which often leads to a lot of bias considering it’s very easy to get friends to join said forum and vote for your site; however, that’s what makes this award different.  On Top Admin, instead of having the community vote, Dojo takes the time to go through member’s blogs and forums herself, taking a more critical look at each of them.  So it’s not just friends voting for friends, which makes it more prestigious in a way.  But enough about me and the award let me tell you a little bit about Top Admin.

As of yesterday (August 1st), Top Admin has been open for six months and it has come a very long way.  It was started on February 1st and I’ve been a member almost since the very beginning—I joined about two weeks after it opened.  I’ve learned so much from Dojo and the entire community, more than I ever imaged to learn.  I was a new blogger and was still trying to get my footing—without Top Admin, I’m not sure that Familial Ramblings would be where it is today.

There is a ton of useful information for both blog and forum owners alike to be found on Top Admin.  The community is welcoming and always more than willing to help with any questions or even any problems you may be experiencing with your blog or forum.   It’s really a great place to find guidance and assistance.  It is a place that I highly recommend blog and forum administrators to check out.

Again, I have to thank Dojo for not only building a fantastic community, but also for this amazing award.

  1. You deserve to win this. As you know I am an active member at Top Admin and I really enjoy what you have to say about your life on this blog and what you have to say about blogging in general. You have a lot of knowledge in the subject and really show signs of improving daily. This blog has come a very long way lately.
