Staying Calm: How do you do It?

I have to admit, as of late I’ve been feeling extremely overwhelmed with things that I have to get done and just with general, everyday life woes.  A reader recently suggested I write a blog post about how to stay calm and I feel as if this is the perfect time to write such a post because I’m experiencing a lot of anxiety so I’ve been working on methods to keep myself calm, cool and collected in different situations.  So, let’s take a look at some methods I’ve been using to stay calm and then we’ll talk about what you do to stay calm. Life is Like an Island of Adventure

I bet you thought I was going to leave you hanging with what else ended up having on my family vacation, didn’t you?  Well, I’m sorry to say you’re not that lucky, we haven’t even gotten to going to the parks yet!  It was decided long before we went on vacation that we would go to three parks while in Florida:  Universal Studios’ Islands of Adventure, Disney’s Hollywood Studios (formally MGM Studios) and Disney’s Magic Kingdom (which you cannot pass up if you’re going to Orlando).  We started off with Islands of Adventure. Interviewed You

An Interview with Felicia

Good morning/afternoon/evening (depending on where you’re located) readers!  I have some very exciting news to share with you, but I’m sure you’ve already guessed what it is if you’ve read the title.  That’s right, the one and only Felicia of Familial Ramblings has been interviewed!  I was approached on a website that I frequent by Max Pen, the creator of Interviewed You, a website dedicated to interviewing a variety of people–from website owners to bloggers to interesting people (apparently I fall into one or more of those categories).  I was flattered to say the least because I thought, “Who would ever want to interview lil ol’ me?”  It’s not an everyday occurrence, at least not for me anyway.  Either way, it’s obvious that I agreed to the interview, but I wanted to take the opportunity to tell you a bit more about the interview, so sit back, relax and let’s get started. Snow in July?

Have you ever heard of snow falling in July?  Maybe in the really cold regions of the world, but not here in the USA, at least that I know of.  However, I’ve accomplished something that I never thought I would accomplish and therefore, it will snow.  You all remember reading my ‘Not in 2012’ post don’t you?  If not, let me jog your memory a bit.  This post consisted of a list of things that happened back in 2011 that I did NOT want to repeat in 2012.  On my last update ‘Looking Back at Not in 2012’ I had managed to accomplish avoiding and improving on some of the things that I had listed; however, there were many I had not.  I want to take a moment to look at one item in particular:  #5 Procrastinate Much? Phobias and Corrals

You’re probably wondering what phobias and corrals have in common.  My family vacation of course!  I’ve had to postpone talking about my vacation due to one thing or another, but it’s finally time that I get the chance to share with you how exactly my vacation went.  Vacations are supposed to be all about relaxing, having fun and spending time with your family and though we did do those things, there was also a mix of drama, frustration, sweat, and tears.  So sit back, relax and learn how I spent my summer vacation, starting with phobias and corrals.
